It’s been a fantabulous one night and two days weekend vacation with my extended family and cousins at Sentosa. Although I emerged all red and blotchy due to the excess sun, I can safely say that I enjoyed every moment spent.
The laughter of the younger ones, my cousin’s usual joking and humour made in a very pleasurable two days indeed. And not to mention the various attractions that Sentosa had to offer.
The admission fees to most of the attractions were much too costly for our shallow pockets, though. However, we still had fun patronizing the free of charge attractions, especially the beaches, the fountain gardens and the likes. The fountains especially caught the attention of most of the younger ones, though, especially since most of them loved to play with water.
Speaking of water, we did spend most of our time in the water. Not along the beaches though, but rather, the swimming pool of the resort we stayed in. We’ve all become paranoid especially after we’ve received news about how a tourist drowned along one of Sentosa’s beaches on the exact day we were there.
You may be curious what this paranoia is about, especially since my cousins (except me) are strong swimmers. Some are worried that the younger ones might suffer a similar fate. Whereas others wondered whether the ’spirit’ of the drowned victim might still be lurking the area.
And mind you, that tourist wasn’t the first person who drowned in the area, so we weren’t taking any chances.
Speaking of which, I was pretty scared out of my wits when I’ve read the news about the two sisters who were flung out of a roller coaster ride in Singapore yesterday while in Sentosa. To think that I myself have been on that exact roller coaster ride twice before.
Ah well, enough of reminiscing and talk about roller coaster rides. I’ve not got to go and nurse my redder-than-a-lobster’s skin.
Things never work out right for me especially when the sun is concerned. I’ve sought after a nice tan, but got myself a burn instead. I’ve heard some speculation that using margarine may help, but I refuse to be treated like a piece of bread.

Hey! It’s good to hear you enjoyed your time away this much, lol. Ah, how I miss the hot weathers and the bright sunny days. Man. It gets down way below zero over here now. Just how great is it to be around people who joke and fool around? It’s fun, and exciting, and hard not to be in a good mood xP Wow, you are so damn lucky to have been able to swim… and so damn much! LOL. I looove swimming, and who doesn’t anyway?
Did you use sun block? I think I’ll avoid the sun for a while too. Heard scary stories about skin damage and somehow my tanned skin color doesn’t allow me to try alot of colors like purple, orange, yellow, green etc. :(
Radiation burns, owie. I always keep in mind that tanning is the body’s way of trying to protect itself from the radiation of sun.
It’s great to hear that you had an overall great time, even with haunted beaches, roller coasters, and burns. ;-)
