TitleThe agony of cmd.exe

This entry will more or less illustrate the amount of frustration I felt during one of my classes this afternoon.

Was trying simple programming using the C:\ prompt. Very simple programming indeed, as you can see, and yet yours truly was still failing. It must be one of those days were technology decides to go against me. (Which happens very often, I must add.)

Argh.

And the professor was wondering why Krit and I were laughing so hard.

Student burnout? ;)

NOTE: The ‘cd demo’ you see in the above screenshot does not stand for ‘CD Demo’. The command ‘cd’ stands for ‘change directory’, and ‘demo’ is the directory I was attempting to connect to. (Which quite obviously, did not exist, seeing from the errors. Argh.)

Ah yes, the joys of Artificial Intelligence (and I don’t mean the subject I’m agonizing over right now - well not this instant…). I used to have a psychiatrist software which behaved similarly. It had a set of predefined words and no matter what you answers you typed in the result was the same…

By the way, you do know that DOS is not case sensitive *giggles* so you could’ve spared the shift (or caps lock key)… I’m such a nerd. :P

Heee! That made me laugh! I too know the agony that can be cmd.exe, especially when trying to ping a wireless router that is your only gateway to the internet, and is broke..

Haha…I laugh.

I gave up trying to learn cmd.exe by myself a while back for that very same reason. I swear, inanimate technology is actually secretly animate and can turn their backs on us anytime.

I’ve done worse… I typed random trash before and once it worked. I hate using CMD but it’s part of my lessons… if not I wouldn’t even memorize the 20 functions my teacher gave me!

Uh.. Looks cheem… That image looks as though it was taken from a computer many many years ago where everything was still in black and white…

Ah, yes, I was raised on DOS before Windows. I’m a nerd.

I always used the “dir /ad” command to list only directories; then I can see where I can “cd” :B
