TitleStand (Jewel)

I do not understand why I have a sudden obsession with songs and their lyrics recently. Probably due to the fact that I had discovered many new songs which I truly enjoy during this entire week. This one is rather meaningful, though. It depicts the paradoxical state of this world, and reveals the other side of humans which hadn’t been seen before. The chorus, especially, is a description of how screwed-up the world is today, especially with all the terrorism and violence going on in several countries these days.

If you have any other meaningful song titles which you’d like to share, do let me know about them no matter which genre of music they originate from. In the meantime, I shall leave you with the lyrics of Stand, by Jewel. Enjoy!

Walk in a corner shop , see a shoplifting cop
See the old lady with a gun, see the hero try 2 run
Nothing’s what it seems, I mean
It’s not all dirty, but it’s not all clean

There’s children paying bills, there’s monks buying thrills.
There’s pride for sale in magazines.
There’s pills for rent to make you clean .
Marvin Gaye, there’s no brother, brother.
Woody Guthrie’s land can’t feed Mother.

Mothers weep, children sleep.
So much violence ends in silence.
It’s a shame there’s no one to blame.
For all the pain that life brings
If you will just take me, it might just complete me
And together we can make a stand

A waitress brings me lunch, we meet but do not touch
On TV, D.C. is selling lies, while in the corner, King’s dream dies.
Go to the counter, pay for me and my friend
A homeless man pulls out a roll, says it’s on him
The mayor has no cash, he said he spent it on hookers and hash

TitleGoing Retro

Introducing my new baby to you. This little lava lamp is now making me happy by keeping me entertained with its constant motion. Definitely a lovely sight whenever I am overwhelmed with boredom.

I had decided to purchase the Clear/Blue colour since it matches the rest of the furniture in my room, and it costed me a whooping total of sixty bucks. But this is a purchase that I would never regret, at the moment.

Even though that baby had unwittedly burnt my second finger the first time I was tried to set it up.

TitleStraining to listen…

My right ear is blocked again, which means that I currently have partial hearing capability. Listening to my mp3s on the computer is torturing since I have to strain my ear in order to listen to the music, and everything around me seems a few decibels softer. To make matters worse, my ear drops have passed it’s expiry date, so I can no longer use it. Cleaning my ears with a cotton bud, drinking hot water, and knocking my head repeatedly against the wall doesn’t seem to work either.

Perhaps this may be due to heatiness, or most probably lack of sleep, considering the many late nights that I had spent during the holidays. In fact, the time is already 12:37am (midnight) and I am still awake. Going to bed early isn’t my usual habit when I have a long stretch of vacation. Unhealthy habit, I know. However, my repeated attempts to curb this habit seems to be failing.

Meddled around with my digital camera again, and bringing you some more photography starring K.J, the little piglet. I simply cannot understand the reasons behind my current obsession with stuffed toys. Perhaps this another sign of boredom?

{More candid shots?}

Browsing through my journal had me realising that my entries are starting to get shorter and shorter. Not sure whether this is a good sign or a bad sign. There are people who may look at long entries as a sign of long-windedness, which I am, in a way.
