Has egoistical tendencies, sticks by her principles, extremely hard-headed and a tongue of venom (when provoked). Otherwise, she's a harmless little fart. Really. Easily bribed with Starbucks' hot chocolate and colourful balloons.

TitleDoes the day seem noisy to you?

23:59:26 | Random Musing | Comments writebacks (11)

On the way home from my grandmother’s house today, my mom and I were stuck in a taxi with Mr Cheerful, who was none other than the taxi driver. He just couldn’t keep silent for the whole ride and kept on rattling on about how inexperienced he is about road directions and how he turned into the wrong lane somewhere. My mother, being the usual friendly person she was, responded patiently to all his yakking, but the continuous chatting was truly driving me insane. After a tiring day at my grandmother’s house, what I really wanted most was a peaceful and quiet ride home in a taxi, and that taxi driver had to go and ruin it all. I tried drowning him out by stuffing my earphones into my ears and blasting some music, but that driver’s voice was just too loud. Sheesh…

All day long, I was stuck in the same room as my cousin David who had his eyes glued to his Game Boy for the entire day. You just cannot pry him away even with a crowbar. Seeing that I had no one to talk to, I sat in a corner and continued reading an uncompleted novel. After reading for 15 minutes, however, I heard David get up and the pitter patter of his footsteps was audible as he dashed from the room to the living room. Thinking that I had even more peace and soliloquy in the room, I snuggled into my grandmother’s bed and continued reading. The next thing I knew, the following words were blasted right into my ear

“MUMMEEE said that I can PLAAAAAYYYY with my PLAAAYYSTTTAAATIOONN (hear the thrilling of his words). YAAAY! Forever…. and ever…. and ever…. and forever…..”

Yes… That loud and shrill voice belonged to none other than my cousin David. At that moment, I was worried about going deaf thanks to his loud yelling. After he blasted the above words into my ears, he started to skip around the room and singing “Forever… and ever… and forever…” for the next 3 minutes. One minute I am hopelessly engrossed in the fascinating storyline of my book, and the next minute I am jolted awake by my cousin’s screaming.

Uncle Johnny booked 2 huge chalets at Orchid Country Club for the whole family next weekend from Friday to Sunday. Each chalet has 4 bedrooms each and we would be holding a barbeque on the second day. I still unsure whether I’d want to stay overnight at the resort, because I would definitely miss the comfort of my own bedroom. However, Uncle Johnny would be really disappointed if any of the rooms went to waste because he had booked the chalet especially for us. Jeremiah, Matthias, David and I are planning to bring loads of items there to keep us occupied. For example, a whole stack of board games, David’s playstation, Sparklers (those which are often played with during Chinese New Year) and a few good books to share with each other.

The upcoming weekend and the following week is going to be fantastic, but busy as well. There is the Family Chalet to look forward to from 28th-30th November, David’s birthday on 02th Dec and the trip to Genting Highlands and Port Dickson from 03-07th December. This is going to be one stretch of holiday which I am going to live up to the fullest

TitleLittle-wonder.net Version 23.0

00:02:15 | Random Musing | Comments writebacks (9)

Okay, all design uploading problems on this site has been resolved, and now Version 23.0 of this domain has been launched successfully. A general site mantainence has also been carried out with all errors resolved. People who have been constantly complaining about the small font sizes of past designs can rest as I had increased the fonts by 1 pixel. Any comments regarding this new design are welcome.

Finally the holidays have begun. As usual, those sadistic tutors had decided to make our holidays a terrible experience for us by setting a grand total of 5 major tests on the very first week of school next year, and had piled huge stacks of assignments on us helpless students. Just for this 6 week holiday, I have 6 GP essays to complete, 200+ Physics Ten Year Series Questions, 8 Mathematics Revision Sheets, 5 Mathematics Assignment Sheets, 20 Mathematics SAT Exercises, 2 Chemistry Past Year Papers and 300+ Chemistry Ten Year Series MCQ Questions. I seriously doubt I can finish all these even if I work non-stop for the entire holidays.

Even though I have too much time on my hands now, there is positively no way that I would spend every single free minute with my head buried in my books. My holidays are meant for relaxation and not to succumb to my tutors excessive demands. I just want to work at my own comfortable pace, and allocate much time for leisure activities as well. After overworking us students for the past 1 year, do they still think they have the right to make us work during the holidays? Hah!

I had just realised with a shock that I hadn’t practiced bowling for almost 2 months, which means that I would be completely out of practice. Not that I had any skill in the first place, but my bowling would be positively worse if I continue neglecting it. For some strange reason, I had completely lost interest in the sport. In the past, it would seem as though something was missing from my weekly routine if I missed one personal practice session. But these days, bowling had been the last thing on my mind. My poor bowling ball and shoes had been sitting in the locker collecting dust and waiting for their lazy owner to come back and use them, but she never returned

My family’s Genting trip (3-6th December) is approaching in two weeks time… My mother informed me last night that my family had decided not to head for Cameron Highlands on the December 6th, but instead redirected our destination to Bukit Tinggi resort. A few minutes ago, she had phoned me, requesting that I do some research on Bukit Tinggi and to dig out some good deals and accomodation prices. Managed to print out 5 information sheets on the place within the past 5 minutes and had read through them with great interest. But how personally, I’d still prefer Cameron Highlands because there is much beautiful scenery which I wanted to capture on my digital camera.

Oh well… I guess the scenery at Genting Highlands would do, not that there is much scenery to see there. There are absolutely too many hotels blocking the view :(

TitleVirtual Pool, Anyone?

23:06:49 | Random Musing | Comments writebacks (10)

Had been playing pool at Yahoo! Games for the past 2 hours and now my right wrist feels so numb, probably due to it resting motionlessly on the computer table for a long period of time. I finally decided to stop after my wrist started hurting when I moved it.

This is what I call the Excessive Computer Usage syndrome, which happens when you hand is clasped over your mouse and keyboard for too long a time to an extent of it losing all sensation of movement. So far, I had been struck by this so-called syndrome for two times. The first happening in July this year when my left wrist continued to throb for three full days due to me typing too fast when I was using the computer. I wonder how many computer addicts in this world had already been struck by this syndrome. Care to share your experiences with me?

JW introduced the Virtual Pool game to me during our Project Work meeting yesterday. Being the usual curious person I am, I decided to try it out and I got hooked on it almost immediately, spending three hours playing it last night and a total of 4 hours today (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night). After playing it for so long, I have come to the conclusion that I am absolutely hopeless at the game, with opponents beating me at least 90% of the time.

However, there was something which I had learnt during the course of the game, and this lesson is… there are perverted people out there! I was playing with this 20 year old male half an hour ago and he started to chat me up. Thinking that it was only a friendly chat, I responded. As the game progressed, he started to ask me more and more personal questions until the last one became *cough* sexually-related. Completely ticked off at his attitude, I ended that game immediately.

This is throughly frustrating. Some people actually take the other party’s friendliness for granted and actually dare to go one step further to ask such questions. Now I understand what people mean when they say that the Internet is a good place to conceal your identity, although this is nothing new to me. Thank goodness I am someone who has the correct sense to ignore such people. What if the person he was chatting with happened to be come impressionable child? For instance, a nine year old girl who does not know how to deal with such a situation? She would definitely fall prey to such people and it is unpredictable what may happen after that.

From now on, I am going to be extra careful when responding to other people on Yahoo just in case it ends up to be another chee ko beh (Translation: “Pervert” in Hokkien) Either that or I’ll give up playing anything on Yahoo for the rest of my life. It all depends.
