Uh, okay. I did say that it will take a few days before the new E-Business project is up and running. However, apparently my enthusiasm was so great that I actually stayed up till the wee hours of the night just to complete the site. Hence, I hereby present;
It took me exactly five hours to design the layout, plan the site structure, re-capture photographs of all the items on sale, and do the required coding for the site. There may still be bugs that have yet to be squashed though, but I have neither the time nor the energy at the moment to scour around for them. But either way, it’s finally done!
*Wipes away sweatdrop*
On another note, I seriously have to curb my spending. I’ve told myself time and time again that money is not easy to come by, and spending wisely is a must. However, the self-restraint proved too weak against the silent screams from the ‘50% discount’ and ‘70% discount’ signs plastered all over my favourite stores.
I was extremely tempted to purchase this T-Shirt this evening because it was sold at half-price. However, a million questions were flashing through my mind at that exact moment. Do I really need it? No, I have too many T-Shirts already. Is the material of a long-lasting quality? No, it expands after washing. Are the colours suitable? No, I have too many shirts of that colour already.
Finally, that T-Shirt went back on the shelf, and I stalked out of the store with full determination.
When it comes to window-shopping, one thing that seriously puts me off is pushy salespeople. When I browse, I prefer to zero in on what I like best, and what I think it is most practical. Sometimes, when I explore the entire store, I may get lured into buying things when I don’t even wear, or need. So I thought it was best to avoid them altogether to prevent spending unneccessarily.
However, it is seriously annoying when these salespeople approach you once you enter the store and beckon you to buy jeans, tops that have newly-arrived and yadda yadda. Not only does it distract your attention from what you actually need, it is also very intimidating.
In fact, I was so frustrated with this salesperson from a certain store on the third floor of Century Square that I just walked out while she was in mid-sentence.
Then again, pushy salespeople are beneficial to me in a way that it prevents me from browsing further and in turn, purchasing something.
There is a new online project in the making at the moment, which explains my delayed webjournal postings. By now, most people would have already known about my hobby of making ear-rings and hence, I have decided to turn this hobby into an e-business of it’s own. Furthermore, I have no income ever since I’ve quit my part-time job since school is re-opening soon, and so I have to seek an alternative source.
I have yet to start on the actual design yet, but still planning the technical aspects of how it should be run, and the general site structure. Hence, don’t expect it to appear so soon.
There is also work being done off the computer as well. More and more pairs of ear-rings are being worked on at the moment, and I am trying to experiment more new styles that may appeal to the public tastes at reasonable prices. In the meantime I am also trying to keep a look out for craft stores that supply the earring-making materials in bulk.
I am not able to judge how successful or unsuccessful this project will turn out to be, though. At least, not at this moment in time because this is still in it’s early stages.
On another note, I spent most of the day with my dear friend Regina. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her, especially since she was busy with all her jobs and all. That crazy girl currently has three part-time jobs, but I am envious of her because of all the experience she is attaining. Naturally, we had plenty to catch up on.
I accompanied her to her clinic because she was required to go for a typhoid vaccination. (I can vaguely recall when it was my turn a couple of months ago.) After leaving the clinic, Regina seemed to become overly dramatic, grabbing her arm in mock-horror each time I accidentally bumped her, even though it was well-protected by a band-aid.
That band-aid became the target of our conversation while we were having dinner at Swensen’s. Different people have different ways of de-stressing, while our method was to crack ridiculous jokes until we are tickled pink. Throughout dinner, Regina threatened to removed her slightly blood-stained band-aid to vandalise the pepper and salt shakers, or to plaster it over the chilli and ketchup bottles on the table.
Just imagine. You take a seat at your table in a restaurant. You unknowingly grab hold of the bottle of chilli sauce, and suddenly, you catch sight of a used band-aid stained red with something which can either be blood or the chilli sauce. Enough to make you lose your appetite?
It was that exact image that sent us rolling in our seats with laughter. Swensen’s will probably kill us if she really did something like that. Furthermore, I was one of their ex-employees.
That girl can never fail to make me laugh. My day was brightened up greatly because of all the laughter she brought about.
Okay, much as I wanted to keep this issue discreet, but the whole matter is starting to blow slightly out of proportion so I’d better clarify things before things get worse.
But as a disclaimer to all, please note that I am not pointing the blame on anybody, because all of us had an equal part to play. In fact, I must say that none of us did anything wrong. Not me, not she (referred to as “A” in this entry for her privacy), not Keisha. This entry simply has the intention to clarify all issues; as mentioned by the title.
Just a note; there are no links in this entry. None of the parties involved have been linked to, because I doubt they will appreciate any unwanted attention. Also, this helps preserve their privacy and anonymity.
Over a couple of weeks ago, I contacted “A” discreetly over the design on her domain due to some similarities I noticed. She responded, I trusted her, and the matter was solved. Simple. I simply contacted her so as to clear my doubts since I am a rather paranoid person. As far as I am concerned, the entire case was closed. Full stop, and I never brought it up anymore.
Keisha signed up for a Yoursite.nu account a number of days ago under my encouragement. She wanted to learn about designing rather badly, so I directed her there because it was a rather good site to learn from.
So she signed up for the username “debonaire” and went ahead with whatever she wanted to do. I simply directed her there, taught her how to review using this site (Note: Owner of this site is not involved in our conflict.) for her ‘dry-run’, and everything else she does at her own discretion.
It so happened that I spotted “A” on yoursite.nu, and clicked on her listing with the intention of writing her a review. Somehow, I noticed that her latest review was written by debonaire (a.k.a. Keisha). Giggling, I noted in my review to “A” that the previous reviewer was a close offline friend, and to excuse her remarks because Keisha can be kind of… choosy.
Rather, I must say I am slightly annoyed at Keisha for bringing up the whole issue (mentioned in paragraph 2) all over again in her review. Perhaps that was the spark that blew the matter out of proportions. Well, although I must admit it is not wrong for her to express what she thought, since I always known her to be a rather open person. However, what she wrote was probably pushing it one step too far.
The next thing I knew, I was bombarded with accusations that Keisha was me and vice-versa. Apparently, someone had somehow gone to the wrong conclusion that both Keisha and I are the same people.
As a result, my own listing was suddenly bombarded with accusatory reviews with ratings of “1″. Being someone who cares about ratings, I feel it is unjustified.
So as to clear this out; Ladies and Gentlemen out there. I am not Keisha, and debonaire is not autumnqiu and vice versa. Both of us are real people in the real offline world, with our own personalities. We are not each other.
I will never stoop so low as “pose” as someone else. I feel that my integrity is being questioned, especially when I am being referred to as a “liar”. At this moment, I hope I have cleared everything out, and reassured people of my identity. I am autumnqiu, and autumnqiu only. I go by the same online persona on every community.
I’ve been trying to look at the whole issue from an outsider’s point of view, and I can perfectly understand why that suspicion came about. Our reviews are roughly the same length and we tend to get very detailed (or moderately detailed). Or perhaps it seemed so because I had pointed Keisha out as a mutual friend in my review?
I am not sure if any of the parties involved are reading this. But if you are, please give me your opinions regarding this whole matter as well. I am open to all forms of communication. Furthermore, I hope to be able to resolve this misunderstanding without any feelings of hatred from all parties involved.
And Keisha, please do me a favour and keep away from Yoursite.nu for the time being until this blows over. Until then, this site is a good place to satisfy your interest in design and coding.
