TitleDamn the server.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have pinpointed the Webhost Support System which I had done previously in this entry. Hence, I wiped out everything in this entry before and started afresh.

Apparently, the helpdesk claimed that they had seen no downtime from their side - which means that I had either imagined the downtime, or my browser/ISP is being an ass.

But there is no mistaking the fact that I’ve been having trouble connecting to my own site ever since 12 midnight the night before, and the problem is still persisting even at this point in time.

The “Error Loading Page” message is soon going to be the bane of my existence, considering how many times I’ve come face to face with it for the past 14 hours.

The websupport helpdesk is still investigating at the moment, and have assured me that they will take action.

Strangely, their responses have become lightning fast all of a sudden, which was rather surprising, but reassuring. It seemed like the slow support they had previously barely existed at all.

Meanwhile, visitors out there - I need your help.

Please comment and inform me of any anomalies you’ve come across when trying to access this site. Whether it’s loading slower than usual, or loading as quickly as it used to be - please tell me too.

This will enable me to come up with a general trend/pattern which I can present to my webhost should the general visitor population end up experiencing errors as well. Additionally, if problems are coming from a certain ISP, I can deduce from that as well.

Thanks muchos to all.

Title(Semi-Hiatus) Missing In Action.

A spam filter failed on me, and that’s why everyone suddenly began tripping the spam filter especially during the past five days. Everything has been fixed now, so the comments should be fully functional once again.

And rest assured, the authorities are not going to come knocking on your door for spamming. You are all innocent parties whom my PMS-ey spam filter decided to target out of no reason, unless if you are a genuine spammer, of course.

Meanwhile, I am reverting back into projects-and-assignments mode once again, because things still aren’t that good over on my side.

Little by little, I am getting things done, and the burden has been lightening a little. However, the workload is still too heavy for me to actually get back into blogging full-force once again.

Any port in a storm - Genting Highlands vacation with my family in nine days. At least there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I will look forward to anything that can get me out of this rat race, even if it is just for a few days.

And I miss everyone. :(

TitleHungry Ghosts’ Festival

Finally upgraded the Wordpress engine running this webjournal. At long last.

I’ve procrastinated doing it for long enough. And when 2.0.4 came out, I decided that I shouldn’t be sitting on my lazy arse any longer before things get even messier.

Apparently, the long months of not upgrading has caught up with me because I had completely forgotten how to upgrade. Thanks to the handy manual provided by the kind folks of Wordpress.org, I finally managed it.

From a Wordpress geek to a noob in just a few months. A sign that my brain has somewhat degenerated, aye?

On another note, we are currently in the midst of the seventh month of the lunar calendar - known as the Hungry Ghosts’ Festival.

Quoted from Wikipedia:
In the Chinese tradition, the 7th month in the Chinese calendar is called the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits come out from the lower world to visit earth.

It is also during this time where people (usually Buddhists) offer prayers and joss sticks to their ancestors or photographs of the deceased. Whereas, we youngsters are constantly reminded to watch where we walk.

Somehow, along with this month comes the tendencies to hold strange face-to-face and/or MSN conversations. Not to mention the strange urge by certain sadistic souls who feel the need to share ghost stories/encounters to scare the pants off the rest of us.

In lieu of this, I can’t help but add on this extract from a certain conversation on MSN the night before.

Please pardon the bad English and excessive Singaporean slang, though.

On the topic of transferring the huge collection of photographs from our group vacation to Hong Kong a couple of weeks earlier.
