Too much to mention..

This is the first time in a long while where I am feeling so relaxed. Even though the Chinese A Levels are coming up soon, I have decided to let loose and take things easy for a short while. I absolutely agree with what many people have been telling me — that I am too uptight about my promotional exams and have a tendency to overstress myself over small situations. Yes, I have to admit that I have a low level of patience and I am a perfectionist, always striving for high goals which are unreachable. So for the next week, I am just going to spend my holidays relaxing. I really need this break.
This long break can also be spent on doing all the things which I have procrastinated for a long time. I have yet to redecorate my bedroom wall with the new SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) posters which my mother had purchased for me yesterday. So many posters of puppies, kittens and other furry pets which I absolutely adore. Staring at my bedroom wall should be very pleasant from tomorrow onwards as the mere sight of little animals would make me smile.
On another note, I spent three hours combing the entire Parkway Parade for a nice sports windbreaker but wound up empty handed. Converse no longer stocks up on nice windbreaker designs and I cannot find any decent looking ones at Nike, Adidas and the rest of the common sports brands. The design which I am looking for is mostly pure black with a few grey/white stripe designs, the usual “sporty” looking ones which used to be found at Converse. If anyone out there knows where I can find a windbreaker like this, please let me know! Thanks.
Besides going shopping as mentioned above, I spent most of the day online adding new updates to this domain. A new piece of writing titled Pain and Torture had been added under the Literary Section and I have re-edited and modified some existing pieces in there since I had too much time on my hands. The portfolio has also been updated with new digital artwork pieces and layout designs which I had done over the past two days.
Talk about wasting my time away…
With regard to my previous journal entry, I had a few requests to post some photographs of my cousin’s kittens. Sadly though, I had forgotten to bring my camera when I went to my cousin’s house 2 days ago so I am unable to provide any photographs. I would *try* to get some snapshots before my cousin releases those kittens back to the wild, but I am not making any promises. I really like a photograph of those kittens as a momento as well. I may probably leave my camera with my cousin for a week and bribe him to help me take a load of photographs for me…

Kitten Fiasco

David (my cousin) discovered 4 baby kittens in his bathroom last weekend and hence, he decided to keep them until they grow older. Nobody knows for real how those kittens actually got there, because Aunty Olive mentioned that they discovered the kittens in the strangest place — under the bathtub! I was not very surprised to hear that as, after all, their house is located in a rather secluded area where many stray animals roam.
I dropped by David’s house to play with the kittens and I couldn’t stop gushing over them. I have never seen such tiny kittens in my life. All four of them were so cute and furry and I couldn’t stop cuddling them. One particular kitten was so active that he couldn’t stop frisking around. At one point, he did a little somersault at the kitchen doorway while David shrieked in surprise. The little black kitten is the most intelligent of all and he could easily find his way around the house even though we left him alone for a while. Another brown kitten would continuously claw at me each time I tried to feed him with the milk bottle. Last but not least, there is a little white kitten which I can only describe as being “blur”, nothing else.
I carried two kittens on my lap and settled on the couch to watch the finale of “Baby Boom”. At one point, I felt a sense of uneasiness, like as though I was being watched by someone. I looked down and saw the little innocent eyes of the black kitten staring at me. When I caught his gaze, he mewed softly and snuggled into my T-Shirt. The grey kitten beside it then yawned and fell asleep again. David sat beside me with the brown and white kittens sound asleep on his lap as well.
The kittens were wide awake once again by the time the show ended and since we had run out of things to do, Merle, David and I decided to have a little “kitten race”. We positioned the kittens at one end of the living room, creating a finishing line near the other end and started the race. However, this “race” didn’t go very well as these little kittens obviously don’t realise that the shortest path between two points is a straight line. They were crawling everywhere except making their way to the finish line. The little white kitten crawled into David’s smelly school shoes and made himself comfortable while two kittens crawled behind the piano, refusing to come out. Merle carried the brown kitten and tried to feed him with the bottle again, and that was the time when the kitten decided to empty its bowels. A rather large pool of yellow liquid was slowly forming in the middle of the living room with David complaining with disgust.
Thank goodness it didn’t stain the living room rug!
A really eventful day which managed to divert my thoughts away from my promotional exams. Speaking of the promotional exams, I completely screwed up the Physics Paper 1 which was held today as well. I couldn’t answer 35% of the questions and thus, had to make wild guesses for most of them. In other words, teekam. This is really a hopeless case…

The fresh scent of B.O

The horrible stench of body odour never fails to plague me whenever I descend the stairs from my apartment to the ground floor, all thanks to my third floor neighbour. My block is designed in such a way that the area which I am living at only has one apartment at every level, thus providing us with extra privacy. So my third-floor neighbour is constantly using the area outside his flat to air-dry his clothing. Sadly though, I have to pass that area each time I descend the stairs and I am always greeted with that usual stench — the strong scent of drying sweat as well as my neighbour’s body odour.
This is the reason why I am always running down the stairs at top speed whenever I go out, ending up huffing and puffing at the bottom flight of stairs. Unless I can prescribe a better remedy to counter the stench, which is to purchase a endless stock of face masks even though the SARS period is over.
My Promotional Physics Paper 1, the very last paper would be held tomorrow and the past two days of endless slacking is starting to make me feel very guilty. Had been very complacent because the paper would only consist of MCQ questions, which I presumed would be “very easy” as compared to the extremely tough paper 2 which I faced on Monday. The rest of today would be devoted to revising and going through my entire stack of notes. I am counting on this particular paper to make up for the way I messed up the Physics Paper 2. I am sincerely praying hard that I wouldn’t wind up with a mental block when I come face to face with the exam questions tomorrow.
The end of the last paper would be followed by a full week on plain enjoyment and relaxation before I start my revision for the GCE AO Level Chinese paper which would be held on November 7. I definitely deserve this break after a full 5 month preparation for the Promotional Exams. After which, the long November cum December holidays would come along, as well as my family trip to Genting and Cameron Highlands. My mother also mentioned that my relatives and I would be spending one weekend at a local resort as a simple “getaway” in addition to the Malaysia trip, so that is something which I can look forward to.
Not to forget the huge shopping spree which I would be embarking on with effect from tomorrow afternoon as I haven’t shopped for almost 4 months. I have so many things which I need to buy, inclusive of a windbreaker, a pouch, a sling bag as well as a few more T-Shirts. All this shopping might cause me to go broke, but this is an excellent way to indulge and destress myself after an excruciating long period of studying.
But before I start gearing myself up for the upcoming holidays, I’ll have to clear my remaining exams. Now just to clear them, but also to pass my examinations with good results, so that I can enjoy my 2 month long holiday guilt-free.
