TitleMaking this short and sweet

Physics practical was held today and personally, I do not think that it went well, considering the fact that I had obtained 11.10 as the acceleration of free fall after carrying out the experiment when the exact value is supposed to be 9.81. Sigh… now I have no other choice but to buck up for the Physics main paper in order to pull the overall grade up.

After the practical, we were locked up in LT 4 since the people in the second and third shifts have yet to complete their practicals. It is a horrible feeling being stuck in there for a whole two hours, mainly because we do absolutely nothing except to just sit there until our feet can get permanently grown into the floor. At least I had enough foresight to bring the articles from my Project Work to evaluate in order to pass the time. However, time seemed to crawl by slowly despite being busy. Next time, remind me to pack a bag full of titbits and chips so that we can have a mini-picnic at the back of the LT for future pracical examinations. Somehow, it can be regarded as a “mini celebration”.

An F for my Physics practical exams… Here I come…

TitleMayhem at Grandmother’s House

Children are known to bring joy into our lives. Along with their presence, they bring along much laughter, chatter as well as carefree moments. They help to fill up that little hole in your life — which is the need for more interesting events to take place. They keep you occupied with their neverending playfulness as well as to keep your hands full with their wild antics and games. In short, having a child in the home is always a pleasure for many people.

But David (my 11 year old cousin) and Joel? *shudder* Absolutely no way. Those two are more active than a horde of buffaloes and need the control of more than 10 adults. So why Aunty Olive always thrust David into my care is always beyond me. I just can’t control him. Wild antics and carefree moments? I don’t think so, havoc and mayhem are more suitable words. Or even better, the word “disaster”.

Why do I say this? Well, David did play a huge role in damaging my grandmother’s electric fan this evening. As I sat aside in a corner completing my Project Work evaluation, David was happily staring at the TV screen, his fingers jamming the Playstation controls repeatedly. What made matters worse was that he was playing “World Wrestling” and thus, there were much sound effects. Naturally, I was feeling completely distracted and was unable to concentrate on the work I was doing. Furthermore, the endless “clicking” noises coming from the Playstation game controls were enough to irritate me.

David took a step backwards and the next moment, there was a loud crash. Immediately, all my aunts dashed into the room to find out what had happened. As for me, I simply turned my head and was appalled to find my grandmother’s electric fan lying broken on the floor. What made the whole situation worse was that the switch to the electric fan was still on. Immediately, Aunty Nelly went into a frenzy.

“Quick! Quick! David, switch off the electricity before there is a blackout!”

However, my mother rebuked Aunty Nelly and went to switch off the electricity to the fan herself, giving the reason that “David might not be careful enough and may end up electrocuted. After all, he has the capability of causing all types of trouble.”

Thank goodness my grandmother’s fan is still working, otherwise, the broken fan might cost David $180 out of his pocket money, which is a substantially huge sum for a young boy like him…

After that whole situation, David then started to kick a fuss because that little “electrical accident” had also affected his Playstation and thus, wiping out his game. He started to complain about how he was doing so well on the game and suddenly this has to happen. He wasn’t even bothered about the broken electric fan at all. Well, he caused the accident, so I don’t even know what he is complaining for. After all, he is always responsible for 80% of the accidents which happen to him… (raises eyebrow)

TitleAgainst Online Music Piracy? Not me.

This entry may be similar to the one posted a few days back regarding the online music piracy. However, there is this overwhelming need for me to let off some steam, especially where the RIAA And RIAS is concerned.

Okay, this overly-exaggeration of music piracy is really, and truly getting on my nerves, especially what the government is doing to curb this so called “nonsense”. Before I continue, let me pose a question to you. Do you like the idea of someone spying on your every move, and watching what you are doing online? For all I know, there might be someone spying on my computer even as I blog. Isn’t this an invasion of privacy? We are entitled to our privacy, freedom of speech and movement, as well as a personal control of our belongings and all our actions. However, this is what is actually going on around us as people being spied on as they surf the web. What the RIAA and RIAS is doing is truly making us feel that we are some worthless people who have to be controlled.

Seriously, isn’t this overdoing it a little bit? According to a comment left by one of my visitors last Sunday, I hereby quote…

“I agree, I don’t think the govt should be allowed to do this stuff at all. Especially since, the people who are losing this money aren’t the bands, but the people who own the rights to their royalties.. etc. They’re all old men who are already very rich. I saw a study on it, the average loss is only $10,000 a year!! These people make millions upon millions per year, but they’re going to fine teens with no money for that little tiny 10,000?! I mean, geeze, why don’t we all have cameras inserted into our brains so the govt can ALWAYS know what were doing.. it’s basically what’s happening”
(Quoted by Jessica)

I absolutely agree with this statement as I have read something similar regarding what she has mentioned. What is the whole point of purchasing an entire CD just for the sake of one pathetic little song? Personally, I feel that this is another method in which the republic is attempting to take our $$. For heaven sake, when comparing multi-millionaires like the people Jessica has mentioned above and young innocent teenagers with a lack of pocket money. Who deserves a high priority?

As this whole crackdown against internet music piracy goes on, my sense of rebellion will also continue to rise. There’d better no more drastic actions such as personal system hacking or spywork, before I lose my sense of belonging to this crazy world. One thing I absolutely detest is to have my privacy invaded, as well as to be controlled at the hands of an external being.

In the meantime, I shall continue indulging in my beloved Kazaa, as well as my favourite mp3s.

Get the ***** lost, RIAA!

[DISCLAIMER]
This is a very controversial entry, so opinions may clash. As you read this entry, do I sound like a rebel to you? ;) Well, there is a need for human beings to express themselves regarding current issues. Thus, I would openly express myself on my little blogging space which I paid for. If you are a govt official reading this, please take note of the above and realise that there are people (along with the many millions around the world) who are really unhappy with such an ongoing event. Thank you for your attention.
